BENEFITS
The VC Security Foundation, as administrator, has signed a contract with the Harris County Commissioners Court for patrol service by a Harris County Precinct 1 Deputy in a marked vehicle. While all of the neighborhoods benefit from the heightened level of security and law enforcement visibility, the cost of the program is borne by participating member households paying a pro rata portion of the cost of the contract.
Benefits for members:
- Special contact phone number to the Constable’s Office serving our area. This results in response times of within 3 – 4 minutes when a deputy is on duty; and efficient reporting and follow-up for suspicious activities
- Vacation Watch Service for residents who are out of town
- Special Watches when the residence has a particular circumstance,
- Home security inspections to find and reduce vulnerabilities and hazards
- Customized forums to address neighborhood issues concerning home security and safety
- Special programs, including self-defense instruction for women
- Yard signage indicating the homeowners membership in the program
- Email bulletins and updates regarding security, crime and results
- Insurance Discounts – participating home insurance companies may offer home insurance discounts, based on your constable patrol program membership, and if the alarm is linked to the constable number. Please contact your insurance company for more information.
COST
The overall cost of the program is set under a master contract with VC Security Foundation and the Harris County Commissioners Court. Participating members pay an equal share of the program cost and member cost is lowered as more households sign up. Click here to see cost for this year’s membership.
Homeowners and renters who reside in the Lewisdale, Park Civic and Vermont Commons neighborhoods are eligible to participate. Click here to view a map of the boundaries.
